It's Not Just for Pilots
While we welcome pilots, you don’t have to be one to join the SRQ Composite Squadron. The Civil Air Patrol offers many avenues of volunteer service, including emergency services, training and mentoring for cadets, and aerospace education. We also need volunteers for community outreach, media relations and administrative responsibilities.

As a composite squadron, we have something to offer both adults and teens alike.

Check Us Out
The SRQ Composite Squadron is one of more than 1,700 Civil Air Patrol squadrons throughout the nation. As a composite squadron, we have both cadet members (12 to 21 years) and senior members (18 and up). If you live in the Sarasota area, feel free to join us for one of our regular meetings. Check us out, meet the men and women of our squadron, and see if we are a fit for you.
Take the First Step
After you sit in on a few meetings, you should start have a good idea if the Civil Air Patrol is for you or not. If you want to take the next step, talk with our Squadron Commander, Captain Ben Moore, or our Recruiting Officer, Lieutenant Steve Deering. They will be happy to walk you through the steps to become a member of the Civil Air Patrol. We are glad you are ready to serve your country and your community with us. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
